The Asana Practice (physical yoga practice) is only the 3rd Limb off the 8 Limbs of Yoga. It is a way to WORSHIP your body. The purpose of this 3rd limb of yoga is not only to physically strengthen and condition your body, but also to instill a sense of discipline in oneself.
